Japan's March Graduation: Words of Farewell
Japanese graduation ceremonies are formal, solemn events where students often express deep gratitude. Using 'onshi' instead of 'sensei' elevates a teacher to a respected mentor who has had a profound impact on one's life.
Sotsugyoshiki de, sensei ni arigatoo gozaimashita to iimashita.
At the graduation ceremony, I said Thank you very much to my teacher.
Go-shido kudasatta sensei-gata ni wa kansha no kimochi de ippai desu. Kono gakko seikatsu no omoide wa issho wasuremasen.
I am full of gratitude for the teachers who guided us. I will never forget the memories of this school life.
Onshi kara tamawatta kazukazu no oshie o mune ni kizami, kono kadode no hi ni, shakai e habataku koto o kataku chikaimasu.
Engraving the numerous teachings of my respected mentor in my heart, on this day of departure, I firmly vow to take flight into society.
